Morocco

The past few months I have travelled back and forth to Morocco...it was as if I returned home.

The people, the smells, the hustle and bustle of the souks, the food, the colours, the culture, the architecture and most importantly the Berber jewellery all seemed so familiar to me. I had been there before...maybe in another lifetime.

Dreams do come true.

I have my current collection selling in one of the best stores in Marrakech called 33 Majorelle. It is a beautiful concept store selling locally inspired products. I feel incredibly honoured to be represented there.

I had an idea whilst in Marrakech to make one of a kind beaded necklaces using vintage Silver Berber pendants and precious gemstones which I source in India. It was merging the old with new. I travelled to a town 5 hours out of Marrakech to source original Berber Silver. I was in heaven surrounded by exquisite Silver pieces.

Whilst making these necklaces I had one store in mind. El Fenn. It is a superb boutique hotel. Attached they have a store filled with Moroccan products designed with an urban twist . It was a perfect match. In one day they sold all of my necklaces. I couldn't have been happier. I am in the process of making more pieces for them to be delivered in September.

Now my designs are represented in two of the best stores in Marrakech. Rubyteva Design was destined to make it's way to her original source of inspiration.

I travelled from Fes to the Sahara desert. To the High Atlas Mountains.

From Marrakech to Agadir to Essaouira and beyond...

The Sahara has always called me....her energy was pure. The sky so clear. And the sand so fine...dunes that went on as far as the eye could see. I watched the sunset and the sunrise and bathed in her beauty. I have more to explore in the Sahara and I know my future will take me there.

I will continue to create collections drawing on Morocco's magic energy as my inspiration.

Morocco is forever part of my journey.

It is now called home...
